Ok, Ok...

Ok, so I was bored....
I pretty much redid everything. Also, notice the movie at the top...

Well...I hope you all are breathing and are not dead.

It was a dark and stormy night...ok, not really. It was bright and sunny and the birds were singing in Wibaux, Montana. My grandfather owns a huge ranch out there, and I was a "ranch-hand" at age 12.

My cousin (who was 8?) and I were told to go bring in 30 horses from the pasture. We did this by walking out there and encircling them and walking back. Anyways, in order for us to complete our mission, we had to bring them through this narrow passage with barbed wire fence on either side. In the meantime, I had asked my cousin to go stand in the exit gate (which was open) to another pasture to keep the horses from running out.

Something spooked the horses. Whether it be my cousin, a bird, a rattlesnake, a car...something. Because the next thing I know every one of the 30 horses turned around in this narrow passageway and every one of them stampeded straight toward me! (Keep in mind, I wasn't the muscular hunk I am now...Wink)

Having nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide, I just figured it would be a good idea to save my life and allow the horses to run back into the pasture and try again. So, finding no other way, I dove...sidefirst...under the barbed wire fence. That was a bad decision. At least one barb dug its way into my side, deep enough to make me think I was dying!!!

I wasn't.

And so I'm here to tell you about how brave...er...chicken I was as a 12 year old ranch hand.

And I lived happily ever after. The End.

I'm still alive.   :)

Sunday, December 25, 2005

Alas, it is not Thanksgiving anymore...although I have a lot to be thankful for. One of those things is the Reason for the [current] season....Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays! Happy Hanukkah! Happy Winter Festivities! (Or whatever is REALLY politically correct... ;)

What did you get in...your stocking?
What was your favorite gift...overall?
How often do you check my xanga to see if I've updated?

May you never get tied up and thrown in front of an oncoming train so that I have to come save you,

Taylor

P.S. The new background song is called "The Ode to the Christmas Sweater" by Jason Harwell.

I thought that was pretty funny. Happy turkey day ya'll!

Today we went to the Singing Christmas Tree (a Portland tradition (43 yrs.)) There was a sign on the door that said "No photos/photographic devices". Well...my dad took a picture. (And he's a pastor!) :)

Turkey was good. But the rolls were the best! My mom makes the best "butterhorns". I set the new all-time family record (for both sides): 15 rolls!!! Last year, I had 14. But alas, all records were set with the intention to be broken again... ;) I guess my mom better make an extra batch next year! :)

My yard is finally all caught up...well, with the exception of the pile of leaves and corn-stalks that I HAD to pile up because our stupid yard debris container is way to small for our yard...oh well. Yeah, our pile of leaves is about 6.5' tall, and it covers about 144 sq. ft.! It's ginormous!

Basketball is going pretty well. So far we've only had practices and there's only one kid on the team that I don't get along with at all...1 out of 10. I really like my coach. Last Friday I swung in our scrimmage and played with the varsity. I had 9 points and we got the "W". 'twas fun.

Alas, look at the time! It's only 9:00! It feels like it should be 11 or so. I'm so tired. (all that turkey and mashed potatoes and rolls...) And it didn't help me stay awake to have gone running earlier...

I wish you all a very good night and a very happy Christmas and I hope ya'll had a very merry Thanksgiving!

May birds go flying at the speed of sound,        (thanks, Nate)

Taylor

P.S. The background song is a song I play and sing...it's called "Hoopty" by Jason Harwell. :) Rock on!
